Christmas with the Bishopians

I enter Bishop’s College on a Friday afternoon the girls have just finished their exams and most of them are having fun with their friends while others go home to get some well deserved rest. However the school hall is full of life, as I walk in, I could not help but feel that Christmas has come a few weeks in advance.

ON WINGS 2011
SriLankan Airlines brings alive the spirit of the Christmas season with its' annual carol service "Christmas on Wings" at the Ananda College Auditorium on Sunday, 11th December at 6 p.m. The programme will feature several popular and timeless Christmas Melodies and Hymns in all three languages, performed by the talented SriLankan Airlines Choir, including solo numbers and duets.

Mount Lavinia Hotel unveiled the magic, mystery and mirth of the season, as the hotel commenced the iconic yuletide festivities with the symbolic lighting of the first recycled Christmas tree last week at the Courtyard.MLH's own Engineering Team definitely found a very unique way to celebrate Christmas and in a greener way.

Objects d' Art proprietor Manique Gunawardena organised an annual pre X'mas and New Year sale for charity at the Crescat Boulevard lobby on the 25th and 26th of Nov. 2011. The Chief Guest was Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and Japanese Ambassador Hideki Ishizuka was the Guest of Honour

   Christmas bazaar

A date to look forward to next week is The Christmas Bazaar at The Women's International Club on Saturday, the 3rd December from 10am to 6pm. It is in aid of The Sambodhi Home in Magalla and The Good Shepherd Home in Vavuniya.The stalls are many and varied, clothes, food, Xmas decor gifts. Entertainment for children includes Pony Rides. An added attraction will be exquisite Xmas décor specially designed and generously gifted for the occasion by Lassana Flora, Nawala Road, Nawala.




Before the dust settled with the magical performance of 'Choro Calibe' at the choral charity concert, "Hope for a Child", this versatile youth choir is back in the limelight, this time for the Christmas Season. Choro Calibre is moving forward and will be bringing you many more heartwarming, heart-raising acts during this season
